Ontario is reporting 934 new COVID-19 cases today, 100 more than yesterday’s report of 834 cases.
Niagara Region reports 14 new cases, up two from yesterday’s report.
“Ontario is reporting 934 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 420 new cases in Toronto, 169 in Peel, 95 in York Region and 58 in Ottawa. There are 820 more resolved cases and over 35,600 tests completed,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott on Twitter this morning.
Public health units in Ontario also reporting higher cases numbers include the Durham Region with 25 new cases, Halton Region with 35 new cases, and Hamilton with 28 cases. All other public health units reported 25 cases or less.
There were 10 new deaths reported in Ontario today, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 3,118. There was one new death reported in the Niagara Region yesterday for the first time since Oct. 19. There were no new deaths reported today. In total, 69 people have died from the coronavirus in the region.
The Niagara Region reports 14 cases today, up two from yesterday’s report of 12 cases. Lately, daily case numbers have typically ranged from five to 15 over the last few weeks. On Sunday, a spike of 23 new cases was reported.
322 cases in Ontario hospitals
Ontario has now had 73,819 total cases, with 63,123 cases resolved. There are currently 322 cases in hospitals, the highest number of daily hospitalized cases since June 20, with 77 in intensive care and 52 on ventilators.
Ontario continues to see a rise in COVID-19 cases in hospitals. Hospitalized cases increased by 10, the number of those on ventilators increased by six and the number of those in intensive care increased by one since yesterday.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Niagara Region is now at 1,384 with 1,206 resolved. Of those cases, there are 109 active cases, increasing by 14 since yesterday and nine active outbreaks, increasing by one since yesterday.
